After a cold night, the walk across the sand toward the water is cold on my feet. I hurry toward the waterline because I know warmer water is washing ashore. Ahhhh … yes … much better.
The water may be cool, but it’s not cold like the sand because the cold night affects the sand more than the sea’s water. That’s physics.
